Value Added Internal Services Offered in our Permanent Mold Aluminum Foundry
Rough Machining
Alcast Company's permanent mold aluminum foundry contains two vertical CNC machining centers which are often used for rough machining such as removal of gates from the aluminum castings.
Trimming of Aluminum Castings
Our aluminum foundry also contains three hydraulic trim presses, a 10 ton trim press, one 40 ton trim press and one 65 ton trim press. These trim presses can be used to trim flash and gates off of our aluminum castings.
Steel Shot Tumble Blasting
We can also shot blast our aluminum castings in one of our 4 steel shot tumble blasters This process creates an attractive and uniform matte finish on the aluminum castings.
Steel Shot Spin Blasting
Along with tumble blasting we can now offer spin blasting in our steel shot spin blaster. This process is perfect for larger aluminum castings, or more delicate castings that may be damaged or digned when tumbling against other castings.
Aluminum Casting Clean Up
Many aluminum castings require flash, parting lines, excessive metal, etc to be removed or cleaned up. This clean up is done with care using a variety of air tools at our air bench.
Leak Testing
Alcast Company can provide in house leak testing of many of our machined aluminum castings including our valve bodies, covers, and housings.
Assembly of Finished Aluminum Castings
We can also provide assembly of our machined aluminum castings such as this casting that we heat shrunk a steel ring gear on to the outer diameter.
